Knitting to find inner peace!

On our home page, we say that knitting is like reading a mantra. By this we mean that moving the hands monotonously and at the same time counting the stitches will help our brain calm down and focus on the activity. It can be compared to meditating or counting prayer beads. Both activities have been shown to have positive effects by researchers.

In addition to finding inner peace when we knit, we also get an item that we have made. So we have a memory that reminds us all those positive emotions. Additionally, wearing your own design attracts the attention of others and gives a unique way of self-expression.

The many good effects of knitting have been pointed out by different scientists. An interesting experiment, for example, has shown that repeated movements increase the production of serotonin, or the happiness hormone, in the brains of animals.

In addition, knitting has been shown to reduce stress, and it is very easy to increase the sense of community through crafting workshops.

Generally, based on the results of the study, researchers recommend knitting a few times a week for at least 15 minutes. However, we recommend knitting for as long as you need it. In other words, if you want to knit meditatively, do it exactly until you feel more calm and centered.

Knitting also helps our brains develop. This is especially true when we are weaving a very complex pattern or coming up with a new pattern. Some studies have shown that people who knit have less memory problems in their old age.

So, in summary, knitting has so many different good effects, and in addition, it provides an extraordinary opportunity to express yourself and show your style. We can’t recommend anything better than knitting for every occasion!
